MPs have called for an independent inquiry into Sydney Water's handling of a burst water main in the city's north, after thousands of residents suffered water outages for more than three days.
Up to 2,000 residents and businesses in several suburbs experienced a loss of water, or reduced pressure since the main at Epping Road in Lane Cove burst on Saturday morning.
Sydney Water said crews have now isolated and repaired the main, but warned residents that "interruptions to water supply may continue across a number of suburbs".
