Young voters register in large numbers
A record number of people are enrolled to vote in the coming federal election following an influx of young adults signing up.
The Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) says about 97 per cent of the eligible population is registered to vote.
About 80,000 people aged between 18 and 24 have been added to the electoral roll in the past week.
